This is the fast track to some quick wins and easy-to-implement ideas without the fluff. Skip through endless blog posts, backstories, or anecdotes and get right to the good stuff.

There’s a methodology behind how we make recommendations and suggest products. Some recommendations come from our lived experience, and others incorporate facts, studies, and the leading science of the day.

Below, you’ll find a brief outline of each Simply LIving Happy category and the methodology used for each, followed by a list of our favorite relevant products.

A Quick Note: I’m all about full disclosure. The site currently generates revenue from purchases made through our affiliate links. Many, but not all, items linked on this page and our site are affiliate links. These links allow us to bring in revenue for upkeep and maintaining this site at no additional cost to you.

The intent behind this page is to briefly explain the rigor with which we determine the products to recommend so you can feel confident that this is about offering helpful advice first and making money second.

Whether you’re new here or practically family, make sure to check back often. We will continue to update and revise our recommendations as new information or products become available.

Healthy

Healthy combines elements of nutrition and movement for overall physical well-being. Whether you’re looking for nutritious and quick meals to prepare or the best way to get your body moving and back into fitness, these are the best tips, items, and a little commentary for doing just that.

Nutrition:

Simple is better. Emphasize high-quality macros with a mix of the most bio-available essential vitamins and minerals. I don’t cook any meals that cannot be prepped and on the table within 30 minutes. Finding ways to use the same ingredients creatively to make entirely different meals is a love language.

Movement:

Duration, Rigor, Strength, Endurance, Stability, Recovery
Find an activity that meets you at your current fitness level. Set your goals, grab the right gear, and get started.

Wealthy

Unless you’re in the rare and wonderful situation of being independently wealthy, everyone already needs to bolster their financial literacy and stability. Here, we cover tips on spending, saving, investing, and even navigating earned income.

Though I am not a certified financial advisor, these are just tips and ideas that you should consider in the context of your personal financial situation and monetary goals.

Saving:

A set percentage of your income or an amount based on your target retirement age.

  • CIT High Yield Savings – not an affiliate, just a happy customer.

Investing:

Time in the market over timing the market. Look for steady gains, not lottery winfalls.

  • Mutual funds and EFT’s with the lowest expense ratio and highest returns self-managed through Vanguard.

Spending:

One of the most important and impactful critical decisions to make is what to spend your money on, when, and why. Let’s discuss it.

Earning Income:

Know your worth, leverage your experience, and always be improving so you’re ready for the next opportunity.

Wise

What is it to be wise in a modern context? In this category, we take a more philosophical approach to communication, mental health, and reflection on lived experiences.

This is not a one-size-fits-all category; it is more like a buffet where you can be introduced to and sample new concepts, ultimately taking what you need and leaving what you don’t.

There are no hard-and-fast rules in this particular category; it is an exploration of critical thinking, decision-making, logical reasoning, emotional well-being, and more.

Food for Thought:
