In 2023, Matthew Perry was 54 years old. He was best known for his role as Chandler Bing in the popular TV series “Friends,” which catapulted him to fame in the mid-1990s. Perry’s career in Hollywood began in the late 1980s, and his portrayal of Chandler solidified his status as a talented actor.
Probably most shocking and confusing to all fans are the secrets surrounding the cause of his death. It has just recently been announced that the cause of Perry’s death had to do with high levels of Ketamine. A drug used to treat depression. Though Perry has openly struggled with drug and alcohol use throughout his career, his surprising death comes after 19 months of sobriety. So, while there are still many questions surrounding his untimely passing, one thing is certain: the Friends star will be dearly missed. 

Tina Turner

The icon and legend Tina Turner was 83 years old when she passed in 2023. She was a music superstar renowned for her powerful voice and electrifying stage presence. Turner gained prominence in the music industry during the 1960s and 1970s as part of the duo Ike & Tina Turner.

She later embarked on a highly successful solo career, becoming known as the “Queen of Rock’ n’ Roll.” In addition to her phenomenal musical performances, Turner took several roles in films such as Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome and The Last Action Hero. 

But Turner’s life was not all glory and success. Her first marriage ended, citing domestic violence, and later in life, both of Turner’s biological children would pass before her. This hardship would lead her to take an active role in supporting domestic violence awareness and its survivors. Turner is expected to leave her vast fortune to her current husband, Erwin Bach.

Jerry Springer

At 79 years old in 2023, Jerry Springer was a well-known television host, best recognized for “The Jerry Springer Show.” His show gained fame for its controversial topics and confrontational format, making it a cultural phenomenon since its debut in the early 1990s.

However, many don’t know that Springer started his career as a lawyer and politician in Cincinnati, Ohio. After leaving politics for TV, Jerry looked back and made unsuccessful attempts at office.

 Jerry passed away at his suburban home in Chicago after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

Jimmy Buffett was 76 years old in 2023. He was a celebrated musician and songwriter, famous for his laid-back, island-inspired music and persona. Buffett’s career took off in the 1970s, gaining a massive fan base following the most devoted members called “Parrotheads.” 

But don’t let his laid-back vibe fool you. The billionaire entrepreneur also created a lifestyle brand spanning restaurants, apparel, home decor, etc.

Unfortunately, the island sun-loving musician and entrepreneur passed away from a lengthy four-year battle with skin cancer. We hope Jimmy has finally found that “lost shaker of salt” and is enjoying the very best “cheeseburger in paradise” once and for all. 

Sinéad O’Connor
At the time of her passing in 2023, Sinéad O’Connor was just 56 years old. The talented Irish singer-songwriter known for her powerful vocals and hits like “Nothing Compares 2 U” was found unresponsive in her London flat this summer. Sadly, no official cause of death has been reported. 

O’Connor rose to fame in the late 1980s and was recognized for her unique voice and thought-provoking music, which tied seamlessly to her activism off-stage. Sinaed will be remembered as a talented singer and for her relentless efforts to shed light on topics like abuse and racism. In many ways, she was progressive for her time and instrumental in giving many causes a voice during a time when popular media did their best to avoid such conversations.

Ken Block

Ken Block, aged 55 in 2023, was primarily recognized for his expertise in rally driving and as one of the co-founders of DC Shoes. He gained widespread recognition for his skillful driving abilities and the viral success of his Gymkhana video series showcasing incredible driving stunts.

Sadly, the renowned action sports figure passed away in a tragic snowmobile accident, leaving his wife and three daughters behind. Nearly 600 notable figures from around the globe and industries in and outside the sports realm came together to celebrate the life of this incredible figure. His legacy and love of sports will continue in the hearts and minds of many. 

Lisa Marie Presley

Lisa Marie Presley, aged 55 in 2023, was known for being the only child of music legend Elvis Presley. She ventured into music herself and also gained attention for her philanthropic work and occasional acting endeavors.

She passed away this year due to complications from weight loss surgery she had undergone years previous that resulted in intestinal blockage. In her time, Presley was a notable contributor to many philanthropic efforts aimed at supporting children. Her legacy will live on with her three surviving children.

Suzanne Somers

Suzanne Somers was 76 years old when she passed in 2023. She died at home just one day shy of her 77th birthday, surrounded by her husband, son, and close relatives.  

Somers was best known for her role as Chrissy Snow in the sitcom “Three’s Company.” She established herself as an actress, author, and businesswoman, becoming a prominent figure in the entertainment industry. One of her biggest campaigns was championing the notorious thigh master exercise machine and workout routine.

Suzanne passed away due to breast cancer with metastasis in the brain. She put up an extraordinary fight spanning two bouts and 23 years before finally succumbing to disease. 

Bob Barker

At 99 years old, Bob Barker passed away due to Alzheimer’s disease in late August of 2023. Bob Barker was an iconic television personality, notably remembered as the host of “The Price Is Right” for several decades. Barker’s career in television began in the 1950s, and he became a beloved figure known for his charm and hosting abilities.

Barker was a huge animal rights activist during his lifetime and beyond. The notable Hollywood personality had no children or wife to inherit his 70 million dollar fortune. Instead, several animal welfare and military organizations will be the benefactors of his wealth.
